About Me
Sasha Williams is a recent graduate from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University School of Journalism and Graphic Communication, proudly holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations. Her academic journey at FAMU has been marked by exploration, growth, and a readiness to dive into the professional world of PR.
Currently, Williams serves as the publicity intern at ABC News, gaining valuable insights from skilled PR professionals. In her position, she aids the publicists responsible for ABC News programs and platforms. Additionally, she fulfills her daily responsibilities, which may involve tasks such as compiling daily clips and engaging in social media posting.
During her time at FAMU, Williams served as the VP of Public Relations for the FAMU chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (FABJ) for the 2022-2023 academic year. In this role, she played a pivotal part in shaping FABJ's image, orchestrating events, and managing communications. Simultaneously, Williams contributed as the Event Coordinator for FAMU's acclaimed Journey magazine, spearheading event planning and magazine promotion on campus.
In her senior year, Williams expanded her horizons by joining J-School Journals. Her contributions included creating graphics for events and playing a key role in organizing successful programs. Recognizing her multifaceted engagement within SJGC, Williams was selected as a Color Comm Next Generation HBCU Fellow for the class of 2022. Despite the challenges posed by COVID, Williams gleaned invaluable real-world insights from successful women of color, shaping her future career trajectory.
In her final semester at FAMU, Williams distinguished herself as a participant in the first Disney Storytellers Cohort at SJGC. This exceptional opportunity paved the way for a summer internship with ABC News as a publicity intern, showcasing her dedication and talent in the industry.
Williams passion for Public Relations emanates from her desire to help people look better, do better, and maintain a stellar image. Her guiding mantra remains, "Doing it and Doing it Well."As Williams steps into the professional landscape armed with knowledge, experience, and a commitment to excellence, she is poised to leave an indelible mark in the realm of Public Relations.
